[June-8-2018] Presentation of the book - “Learning Like a Lion” authored by Dasharathraj K Shetty to respected General Vijay Kumar Singh - PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC.

General Singh retired as the Chief of Army Staff on 31 May 2012. Since May 26, 2014, he has been serving as the Minister of State for External Affairs in the Government of India. Gen Singh is an honours graduate of the United States Army Infantry School, a graduate of the Rangers Course at Fort Benning and the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He completed this course when the toughest Desert Phase was part of the programme apart from the three phases (1) Darby, (2) Mountains, and (3) Florida.
The President of Indian Bureau of Administrators and Technocrats CA K Rajaram Shetty was present at the occasion.
I had a chance to have a long conversation with Ms Mrinalini Singh Ji, Columnist(daughter of General Singh Ji). A very down to earth and kind-hearted lady. She is also married to an Army man. She gave us the insights of an Army man's life. She gave us the insights as to how life has evolved from Singh Saab being a General to being a Minister. Will provide a detailed account of our discussion once I seek permission from her. I will ever be grateful for her courtesy.

Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education was awarded the prestigious IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Performance Excellence Trophy at a function organized by the IMC Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mumbai. MIT got the award under the Education Category.
